Jen sent this picture to me awhile ago and said when she saw it she thought it looked like us. I loved it and finally got around the scrapbooking it this last week. She did hers as well, so go look over at her blog and see, of course it's freakin' fabulous...
and Jen's layout below. Smashing, I think (that's us last summer on the balcony of Matty's swanky Chicago apartment.) (we're pretending to models and Vidal Sassoon girls) (we're nerds, what can I say?)
Every time I see my layout laying on the dresser in my craft room it makes me smile. I'm SO (insert loud shrill squeal) excited to see her in August (along with Mandi and Patty and Vanessa and quite a few other crafty gals, Mandi has graciously organized a girls weekend). Times like those I relish whole-heartedly!!
Do you ever get to go away with your girlfriends?

I love this idea of leaving a disposable camera somewhere for people to find, snap a couple photos, then leave it somewhere else for others to find and do the same until the camera's film is all used up and they mail it back to you. You in turn get to see where the camera has been on it's exciting little adventure, and with whom. It sort of reminds me of when the girls and I used to do random love notes in Philadelphia (here and here and here). We'd write mini notes with funny sayings or encouraging words or messages and stow them in the sugar packets at Starbucks, in between paper napkins at a cafe, in coin slots of parking meters, eye level in cracks in the walls or bushes. We loved sitting and watching people unexpectedly finding these little word treasures and smiling ear to ear, looking around to see who may have left it. This community photography project makes us excited in a same fashion. I hope people play along and really do mail it back once it's all finished.
So, the girls, Dave and I dropped off a camera in Polanco,a cool little area of Mexico City. We'll see what happens, and we'll post the pictures once it's been returned to us!! When we go home this summer we plan on dropping off a few in different parts of the US, so keep your eyes peeled around you for a small disposable camera, waiting for you to take it on an adventure...

I'm a compulsive list maker. I find them all over the house, stuffed in my purse, I even found an old one of things I wanted to do/see in Europe folded up neatly in my stockings and tights drawer...I made this one the other day and thought I'd share it with you....Since we'll be in the States this summer,
#1. sleep in past 8
#2. not having to get up at 1 am to get Mr. Lobo Jangles out to use the lu...
#3. stay in Bodega Bay in my parents' 50 ft camper for almost 2 weeks, listen to the ocean waves lulling me to sleep
#4. sleep with the balcony door open in my old bedroom at my parents and smell the fresh Sierra mountain air mingling with pine trees...heaven
#5. doze off in a hammock while reading magazines I can't get in Mexico, like Ready Made and Somerset
source
#6. REALLY want to get Dave to take me here, need a plan...
# 7. probably more like the LACK of sleep here, staying the weekend in Akron with Mandi and the rest of my crafty chics (Jen, Patty, Vanessa, Vee, Steph, anyone else?)-crafting, cocktails, thrifting, yep....
(Mandi, do you recognize these places?)

Scrap Mojo has a good one this time, "where the wild things are" is the first part. Second part is to do a technique you've never done before.
I had so many different pictures, it was hard to choose, so I did 2 layouts.
First up is from my trip back home at Easter and almost breaking my other toe jumping up and down with joy when I was out with my girlfriends and I found an old dip-n-dunk photobooth. For those who know me, they know I have a "minor" (no therapy needed) obsession with photobooths. The nostalgia of the black and white images peering back at you (and if you're lucky with an old dip-n-dunk the stinky sulfur smell) coupled with the instant gratification make me swoon. In the photobooth strip on the right, you can see my BF Stef snarling and growling at me, that's where the Wild things came into play. And on the left my other BF Lainie and I laughing so hard in #3 I fell out of the booth. My second part (using a technique) was sewing crate paper onto the page. I often use crate paper on my pages, but have never sewn.
And this one, I used solely one kit for part two-that's my flippin' technique, lame, but it was actually hard. I usually have to mix and match kits. This is an old Dozen's from when I lived in Philadelphia last year.
So, come out you wild thing, and play! There's some cool prizes!

Category Stories newest prompt for June, "the best kind of fun" and I know you all can come up with something there!
I used my nifty Fuji instax for the LO. I said, " the best kind of fun is being with friends and family." Yep.
Come out and play with us-we've got nice prizes!!!
